Drawing

Four tool-bar categories cover freehand mark-up. Selecting a category activates its tool immediately — the panel you see is the tool you get.

Pen

Freehand ink with pressure-sensitive width from the S Pen. The left panel offers the black Pen preset, Whiteout (a thick stroke in the page background colour for masking), and your saved line style presets (colour/width/dash combinations).

Highlight

Semi-transparent marker strokes. Pick from your highlight styles (colour, width, opacity) in the left panel; manage them in the Styles screen.

Line

Straight lines: leader lines, arrows, and dashed rules. Pick a line style, then drag from start to end. Tap an existing line stroke to select it — you can then drag to move it, restyle it from the panel, or delete it.

Eraser

Rub out strokes. The eraser removes whole strokes it touches; a circle cursor shows its reach. Two shortcuts avoid switching categories at all:

  • Hold the S Pen barrel button while drawing to erase temporarily.
  • Flip the pen and use the inverted stylus end if yours has one.

Stylus and touch

By default only the S Pen draws; a single finger does nothing in drawing modes and two fingers pan/zoom. If you want to draw with your finger, enable the Touch toggle in the panel — two-finger pan/zoom still works.

Your tool choice per category is remembered — switch to cue placement and back, and your last line style is still selected.
