The Edit Screen

Opening a show lands you in the edit screen, where all mark-up happens.

Layout

  • App bar (top) — back, show title, bookmark toggle, search field, whole-script search, settings, and the page options menu (⋮): Page Thumbnails (the page grid), Cue List (every cue in the show), Add Blank Page (after the current page), and Delete Page (the current page, permanently).
  • Tool bar (second row) — quick-add buttons for Cue, Direction, Text, Time, then the drawing categories (Pen, Highlight, Line, Eraser, Shape, Tools), and Undo / Redo. The show timer sits on the right.
  • Left panel — options for the selected drawing category (pen colours, line styles, shape styles, tools). It goes blank while a placement panel is open, since drawing tools don’t apply then.
  • Page — the script page itself.
  • Page indicator bar (bottom) — one segment per page. Red segments contain cues, amber-outlined segments are bookmarked, and the tall segment is the current page. Tap any segment to jump.
  • Page controls (very bottom) — previous/next arrows and the page counter. Tap the counter (e.g. “12 / 159”) to type a page number.

One finger, two fingers

The golden rule of the edit screen:

  • One finger — or the S Pen — always belongs to the active tool: drawing a stroke, placing a cue, selecting an element.
  • Two fingers always move and zoom the page (pinch and drag).

Selecting elements

Tap any cue, direction, text, or timestamp to select it. A selected element can be dragged to reposition it. Double-tapping opens the element for editing — the properties panel for cues, text, and timestamps (label, category, style, connecting line, delete), or the direction panel in edit mode for stage directions. Tapping empty page deselects.

Undo

Every content change — placing, moving, deleting, drawing, clearing a page — goes onto a 30-step undo stack, worked by the Undo/Redo buttons in the tool bar. The placement panels also carry their own undo button so you can fix a misplaced element without leaving the panel.
