The home screen

The home screen lists your shows. Each show is a self-contained prompt book: script pages, cues, directions, drawings, and styles.

  • Tap a show to open it in the edit screen.
  • Long-press a show for options: Open, Rename, Clone, Export (share as a zip file), and Delete.
  • New Show (bottom-right button) creates a show — either from a PDF script or as blank pages.
  • The download icon in the app bar imports a show from a zip file exported on another device.
  • The theme icon cycles between light, dark, and system themes.
  • The ⋮ menu offers Backup All Shows, Restore from Backup (see Backup & Sharing), Check for Updates, and About (shows the installed version).

Updating the app

⋮ menu → Check for Updates compares your installed version against the latest release and, when a newer one exists, shows its release notes. Tap Download to fetch the update with progress, then confirm the Android installer prompt. The first time, Android asks you to allow this app to install updates — grant it once and future updates are two taps.

The sample show

On first launch Lx1go creates Hamlet (Sample) — a complete 159-page script with example cues and stage directions pre-placed on pages 3–5, and a note on page 1. Use it to explore the app safely; delete it whenever you like (long-press → Delete).

Importing a PDF script

  1. Tap New Show and choose your PDF.
  2. Give the show a name and pick your stage terminology (see Settings).
  3. Import runs in two phases, shown with progress: Extract renders each PDF page to an image, then Index reads the text on every page so search works.

Large scripts take a few minutes to index; you can cancel at any time.

Deleting shows

Deleting a show permanently removes all of its pages, cues, and backups — this cannot be undone, so export a copy first if in doubt.
